New Riders
Apply*
The first step in the application process is for prospective Riders to complete an application. After receipt of the completed application, our Staff will assess the information to determine eligibility. Once determined that the prospective Rider is eligible and there is lesson availability, we will contact you to schedule an evaluation at our facility.
*SoléAna Stables currently has a waitlist.
Please fill out the Rider Inquiry Form to determine if our program would be beneficial to your family member and if you would like them to be added to the waitlist. You will be notified as space becomes available.

Evaluation
The evaluation will be conducted by a PATH Intl. Certified Instructor who will review applicant’s goals, strategies for success, and determine what resources will be needed such as – horse, riding equipment, Volunteer and Staffing needs. Upon completion of this evaluation the Instructor will determine if an applicant is eligible to start our program. If it is determined that therapeutic riding would be beneficial, individual goals will then be established.
Lessons
A PATH Intl. Certified Instructor conducts each lesson and incorporates lesson activities that develop basic riding skills and focus on each Rider's goals. Once a Rider's individual goals are met, new goals are put in place, ensuring that the Rider is always being challenged.
To the best of our ability, all lessons are made up of individuals that have similar goals and skill levels. If we discover that a Rider would be better served participating with another group of Riders, we will do our best to adjust their riding schedule. However, Rider/lesson availability may dictate how
much flexibility we have in creating the ideal Rider groups.

Lesson Format
-
Lessons are offered in either 6 week (summer) or 14 week (fall and spring) semesters
-
Lessons are taught in a group setting with no more than four (4) Riders per lesson
-
Lessons are scheduled by skill level, age and availability
-
Lessons will typically include 10-15 minutes of grooming, 30-45 minutes of riding and 5 minutes dismounting
NOTE: It is not uncommon for the first few lessons to be 30 minutes or less due to the Riders’ stamina. Our goal is to encourage all our Riders to increase their lesson time to the full 45-50 minutes. The majority of our Riders continue their lessons from one semester to the next.
